MSMA Target 6 Plus Herbicide is for post-emergent control of crabgrass, dallisgrass, johnsongrass, nutsedge, pigweed, and chickweed. MSMA is one of the best selective post emergent herbicides but is also dangerous if improperly used. Please read all label instructions before use.
- Monosodium acid Methanearsonate MSMA 48.3%
- MSMA can be used on Cotton, Golf courses, Sod Farms, and highway rights of way for weed control.
- MSMA should be mixed at a rate of 2oz per gallon of water for general applications. Please refer to the label or give us a call for specific mix rates for particular weeds.

Does it kill fescue?
Fescue is severely stressed by Target 6. The label states injury may occur if applied to fescue or bent grasses.
Will this kill Weische trees?
Weische tree is not listed on the label as a species controlled. Target 6 is primarily a non-desirable grass control agent. From the label:
A partial list of weeds controlled with Target 6 Plus includes: Barnyardgrass, Brachiaria spp., Chickweed, Cocklebur,
Crabgrass, Dallisgrass, Goosegrass, Johnsongrass, Nutsedge, Pigweed, Puncture vine, Sandbur.
Will this product not kill Zoysia grass?"
No, not as defined Per the Manufacturer’s label:
“Established bermudagrass and zoysiagrass, mix 1 to 2 fluid ounces (2 to 4 tablespoons) of Target 6 Plus in 1 to 2.5 gallons of water for application to an area of 1,000 square feet. Applications should be uniform and thorough to adequately wet all undesirable plants.
Two or more repeat treatments at 14 day intervals may be necessary. DO NOT repeat treatments prior to 10 days following previous treatment. DO NOT make more than 4 applications total of either DSMA or MSMA or a combination per year. DO NOT make more than one broadcast application per year, and all additional applications are to be spot treatment only.”
Can I apply this on Saint Augustine grass to kill dallis grass and crab grass?
Per the manufacturer’s label, no this product should NOT be applied to St. Augustine grass because it will kill it.
Will it work on sandburrs?
Per the manufacturer’s label, yes Target 6 Plus is labeled for use on sandburs.
Can this be used for Warm Season Bermuda?
Per the manufacturer’s label, yes Target 6 Plus can be used on bermudagrass. Just make sure to follow the mix rate instructions on the product label to use the proper amount of product.
Are there any grazing restrictions for this product?
Target 6 MSMA is not EPA labeled for use on pasture or rangeland. It is only labeled for use as defined on the manufacturer’s label:
